Drew Petzing

So, yeah, we'll kind of see how that one shakes out.

But super excited for the Lions offense to keep going under Drew Petzing.

I think they've done a fine job.

I get some of the frustration for people out there on the second down runs and things like that, but that's just keeping defenses honest and trying to throw a different tendency out there than maybe you're not used to seeing.

And we have been since he left Alabama, right? He had a great collegiate career down there in Tuscaloosa, came into the pros, a little hurt to begin with, but he's worked on developing his routes and everything else.

The problem is his offense and Petzing's offense in general.

Do we trust Jared Goff more than we trust the Cleveland Browns quarterback situation? Yes, to that answer as well.

Somehow I guarantee you that has been on the conversation for Mike Kafka and Drew Petzing.

So I think it looks a lot better for Almaraz, excuse me, for him too, but for Jameer Gibbs.

Because everybody is about the fluidity and that's where all the players are very uncomfortable on offense.

I'm glad you bring up Petzing.

We keep mentioning Kelvin Shepard, Kelvin Shepard this, Kelvin Shepard that, Kelvin Shepard's not good, fire Kelvin Shepard, bring in Johnson or Jim Swartz.

Why haven't we mentioned Drew Petzing.

And the reason why I ask that question, a lot of that starting slow, a lot of that trying to figure it out, it's on the offensive coordinator.

Did you notice that at all? Or what do you make of that as far as those early season splits?

Well, that's, yeah, that's Drew Petzing stuff, right? Like, there was a lot of the talk about this offseason about how his offense features the position Jamison Williams plays and obviously the tight end.

The X factor was he's never had a guy like Amon Raw St.

Brown, though.

This is also good as it relates to potential game environments involving the Lions.

And then there's one of our greatest nemesis, Drew Petzing.

One of my greatest concerns with the Lions heading into the new season was how much creative freedom Petsing was going to have with the offense.

And while it doesn't look to be a ton, as in the offense continues to be structured similarly, he does have complete freedom with situational tendencies.

And like we hoped that would be different, 'cause we saw a lot of that when Drew Petzing was running the offense in Arizona.

And now it's Mike LaFleur, and we had high hopes that LaFleur was gonna find new and more creative way- ways to use him.

Nope, not yet.

be struggling like this on third down and having this many three and outs.

So it's something, you know, like we talked about with Sheffield, Drew Petzing had an opportunity to kind of look at some of these stuff and go a little bit more of a deep dive over the weekend too.

So hopefully he's figured out some of these issues on third down.

And look, you've got to too, because this is a Jets team that possesses the football.

You've got to take advantage of them.

When you talk about time of possession to with the Jets leading in that category through week to a big part of it starting faster offensively because you are going to have the ball less against the team like that.
