And we can see from where we're at today that there are five big ideas, five big doctrines, five solas that came out of that era which are with us today influencing every major denomination on earth today.
And so we're going to look at what they are because these are the same ideas big ideas pertaining to Christianity and how we view God and his word that affect us today.
See, our country is in the peril that it's in because it no longer appeals to the Bible as the final authority.
and now appeals to other things, human philosophy, the state, how we feel at any particular day or moment of the week, right? We no longer appeal to the Word of God.
We live in a country where in most places we're blessed to have great schools where we live with Christian educators and Christian administrators, but in a lot of parts of our country, They're pulling the word of God out of schools, right? And then simultaneously pumping the word of God where? Into prisons, right? And we're thankful that the word of God is in prison ministry.
But we understand our culture and our country is in the peril that it's in because it forgot that God's word is the final authority.
And that doesn't happen without individuals in their daily lives also forgetting that the word of God is the final authority.
If what you believe about God it cannot be reconciled with the scriptures, then it's probably wrong and it needs to be reformed.
It's in the same way if you're coaching a sport, you're running a play and one of your players is not running their route according to the play.
Right? I love what somebody said on our church Facebook this week about the Bible.
