Uncle Sam

I remember when I first saw news coverage of the Tea Party movement.

It was a video of people wearing Uncle Sam hats and Revolutionary War uniforms and wigs and ceremoniously throwing tea bags in a bucket.

Because they were all about taxes, right?

Yeah, that was their big thing.

Danny wouldn't trust it with anybody short of the United States government.

And I'm sure he isn't turning any of it over to Uncle Sam.

Ask me, Randy, you got a pretty thin case against him.

Yeah, but I'd bet my own life that he did this job.

All you have to do is pull the numbers together for us.

And, you know, the other thing that I would say is don't let Uncle Sam destroy your retirement because of all the taxes that you're going to have to pay.

Because, yes, you've done a good job of savings.

Maybe you've got a good pension.

The only entity that treats deficits with less concern than the brewers is the United States government.

And unlike Uncle Sam, the brewers always erase theirs.

Gabe, it does feel like even though they were the best team in baseball, had the best record in baseball, it has taken some people a while to realize the dynamic of this Brewers team.

And yet here we are now with them two games up, two wins away from winning the World Series.

He was appreciative for everything that came his way.

And when he got to wear the uniform of a bomber pilot of the U.S. Army Air Forces, you know, he thought Uncle Sam gave him the best gift ever.

He had joined the National Guard.

And that's how he kind of wound up in the military at the time World War II broke out.

Or it could just be regular Americans that are in these neighborhoods where they have, say, a fake daycare that it's just blatant that nobody's in this building and yet they're billing for thousands of people.

It's easy enough to put that in on fraud.gov and it's kind of like, Uncle Sam needs you because the dollar amounts, I mean, if you could get 1% and the taxpayers save 99%, I think we need it because we just can't afford to be paying people through Medicaid, which is a health program, for things like daycare and watching your parents because your parents are 60 years old.

I mean, it's really just a way for Democrats to increase welfare, but the Republicans think that it's a health care program.

Why have Republicans been so slow to move on this topic? Do you think they were genuinely unaware or did they not want to be perceived as cracking down on a government system that benefited older voters? And because there are parts of the system that of course do good work, but do you think it was a fear of political ramifications? Was it ignorance? What do you think it was?

There are a lot of factors that should drive whether a person does a Roth conversion or not.

Now, it can make a lot of sense because – The bucket that most of us have the least amount in is the tax-free bucket at the end, right? And that's the one I think all of us would love 100% of our money to be already the mortgage that Uncle Sam has on all our money to be paid off, right? And that isn't the case.

But you have to be careful because there are specific rules.

We know that once a Roth is set up, The growth on that Roth money isn't available to be tax-free until the account's been open for five years.
