Is Dillon Mitchell Returning to College?

So he was drafted by the Celtics with the 40th overall pick last June in the draft.

And now he has the option, surprisingly, of going back to St. John.

So this is actually the result of a recent court ruling that allows athletes from the high school graduating class, specifically of 2022, to have a fifth year of eligibility.

And he's one of five players from that class who was drafted last June and now find themselves potentially going back to school.

But if you're Dylan, what would the two of you do at this point?

Gary, I've been flat for my gums enough already.

It's not an easy decision because of NIL.

It's not like he's just going back to school for free.

St. John's would pay him a nice sum of money.

He would go and try to win a championship.

St. John's has had a strong program over the last few years with Rick Pitino.

I think they made the Sweet 16 this year, and I think they lost to Duke in the Sweet 16.

And he would go and try to be a final piece to maybe a puzzle to get to the final four.

That's attractive.

He's 23 years old, which, as we know now, is not that old for college like it used to be.

That was old when I was in college.

He was 23 and you were still on campus.

It was like, you know, it's called your grandpa.

But now 23 is pretty normal.

So he could just basically play a year out.

And then, you know, sign with the Celtics before the draft.

If not, he would be up to be drafted again.

And so that's the tricky part of the situation.
