S3E6: With the IGD's Bryan Roberts

So I was at the FWD conference yesterday, kindly asked to be on a panel.

And this is second year running.

I love the fact that as retailers, sometimes we were lost.

lost in translation with the wholesalers, suppliers, wholesalers, retailers, consumer, right? And we're the bit in the middle and they've connected the dots in the last two years.

And we're going from strength to strength.

The breakout meetings that we had yesterday, we obviously hosted a panel with regards to challenges, this, that and the other.

Myself, Sukhi Atwal and Harj were on the panel.

Vicky chaired it.

Jill Leesy was in another breakout session.

But I just love the fact that finally Wholesale understands that a retailer is part of the dynamic of why retail works, right? So being in that scenario and with all of these wonderful people, I've made some amazing contacts.

some very, very personal conversations about people's lives and, you know, how it resonates.

And with me and Nat being with RetailFamily, I think, you know, safe space, mental health is really important in this industry.

And it resonates.

We're all human beings, right? And it was nice to share that as well as all of the insights that we gained and the different suppliers that were able to contribute on the day.

An amazing event.

Talk about those gaps then.

It's like when you talk about they didn't understand retail.

what do you mean? What didn't they get and what do they get now and what are you working on to help

Absolutely, Stefan.

You know what? Really interestingly, for us, it's second nature, right? What we do in retail, the connection I have with yourself, Stefan and Louise, you know, and what me and Nat share is retail.
