And then Story Wars Live, we're going to Europe at the beginning of June.

June 1st through 5th, we're going to be in Dublin, Ireland, Glasgow, London, Amsterdam.

We're doing Story Wars Live all over Europe, which is going to be a ton of fun.

yeah so like i said november 20th that one's coming out let's switch into some tour and live announcements uh keeping it hardcore for the first one haywire uh who of course we reviewed their new album i don't want to say goodbye last week uh we all thoroughly enjoyed it i hope that a lot of people are as well i'm sure that you are uh but they pretty you know quick after us doing that announced their world tour plans for i don't want to say goodbye and this when we say world tour Between January the 3rd, when they play Nottingham, and April the 30th, when they play Victoria in Canada, there is a show almost every single day for four straight months across all of the UK, Europe, USA, and Canada.

It's one of the most mad... find your city in this tour posters i've ever seen because it's just so large i like if i was to read out every single date on this tour it'll be as long as our release roundup later is going to be i mean i will say you know yeah in the uk because that's where we are based uh in january right off the fucking like right after new year uh they are playing like i said nottingham manchester glasgow newcastle leeds birmingham newport london and brighton but fuck me these are some world tour plans aren't they four straight months across the whole world

they're like in australia like the month before like they they do not stop i mean i really we need to mention the other great bit of haywire news at the moment yeah yeah did you see their um their times square like three minute gig that seemed to like not go quite to plan but also looked fucking sick and i was like yeah

they they rocked up in times square in new york presumably for a video shoot played one and a half songs before the police shut it down I imagine they must have known that was coming, and that's to a certain degree part of the stunt, but it works.

Then there is Rev-a-Rent, Rev-3-Rent, if you are following their name exactly as spelled.

This is the new Very Young Deathcore band, whose single we discussed a few weeks ago, who are bringing back 2007, Myspace, you know, Suicide Silence-style Deathcore like you would not believe.

So I'm sure a number of us... present company included are going to be intrigued to go into that record their debut album is called she let the world run rampant then also in very heavy aggressive you know metallic hardcore uh half me have a record called dogma uh demonstration of power the scottish hardcore band probably like the current scene leaders you would say of like the you know glasgow scottish hardcore scene uh their records called in the name of you like demonstration of power

Yeah, I saw them at one of my many hardcore festivals I've been to this year, and they were great.

What I was going to say to you guys is you started the band in Edinburgh or in Glasgow?

everything so I like being a young girl growing up in Glasgow I went to like a theatre school since I was like 8 years old and I didn't actually come to rent until maybe like 12 and I remember watching the film for the first time and it was like me and a bunch of the girls from the theatre school that I was going to and we watched it for the first time and I have never had such a visceral reaction at 12 years old as well like you don't even really understand like all like life at that point but i just was like blown away and also just something resonated so deeply like looking at all these the lives of these people and you know joanne and maureen specifically like you know being a queer women like it was just so i alivening to me and I still remember the experience and I remember after it watching seeing the credits come up and just like crying like so profusely like I have that memory it got me like in the gut and then you know you do your thing you go to drama school you're a performer and you know I was carried with Rent throughout those times because you know the score is just inevitably unbelievable

And Rent, like, you know, has popped up.

I've seen it over the years, you know, in all sorts of different forms and stuff.

So this is the lower.

We went to the same drama school in Glasgow, Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts, shout out.

When we were like 12 years old and we were there for like year, like up until we went to, you know, drama school and trained.

Not much more to say there, is there? So did you get the month and year? It was December 2017.

And our story begins on Sunday the 17th of December 2017 when 32-year-old Simon Midgley phoned his mum from Cameron House, a five-star hotel sitting on the banks of beautiful Loch Lomond in Scotland, which is about 15 miles northwest of Glasgow.

Simon was there with his partner, 38-year-old Richard Dyson.

The couple had arrived at the hotel the previous day for a two-night stay connected to Simon's work as a freelance travel journalist.

And we also do some work with Alcohol Focus Scotland.

We're part of the Alcohol Action Network here in Scotland from Glasgow.

So yeah, just trying to get immersed in every way we can.

But it's funny, as we say, when we're at the kitchen table, we don't really speak about sobriety at all.
