Welcome back everybody to the Emmaus Road on the True Christian Ministry podcast.

I got, uh, Sam and Josh joining me again tonight.

We're super excited to get back into Genesis.

Um, this time we're in chapter 21, so we're gonna be dealing with a lot of stuff.

We have Isaac, we have Ishmael, we have Abraham, we have Sarah, we have Hagar.

We have a lot of typology, a lot of stuff that we're gonna, um, go back and forth between the New and the Old Testament, showing how the Bible interprets itself, looking at the types and shadows, and seeing where, uh, God's Holy Spirit will lead us, um, so we can, uh, see the things that He has placed here for us.

Um, and we're just praying that the, the Lord will guide this, uh, discussion, this conversation.

And remember, as always, we are fallible men, so, uh, test everything we teach against the word of God, Acts 17:11, "Be like a Berean." Um, it's great to see everybody in here.

Oh, and praise God, it's good seeing you, Mark.

It's been a little bit, uh, I'm sure you've been super busy.

Um, last week we were prepping for Genesis 21, and realized that-

... actually Genesis 20, so now we're officially in Genesis 21.

We're excited to be here.

Uh, hey everyone.

I'm happy to be back.

Uh, can't wait to get started with this.

Yeah, it's gonna be a great, uh, just a great study tonight.

And honestly, that's, that's all this is.

We're all here together.

Uh, we're studying, we're sharpening each other.

Your guys's questions lead us, um, to see things, um, sometimes that we don't see as well.

Um, it also gives us opportunity to, uh, answer the questions that you might have, or it gives you the opportunity to correct us if we misspeak.

So we're just grateful that you guys are here, um, and we're grateful to God that He's given us the opportunity to, uh, be able to join each other from all over the world, um, and, uh, be able to study his, uh, word together, and always pointing back and bringing honor and glory to Jesus Christ.

So we are gonna open up in prayer, and then we're just gonna dive right in, 'cause we have a lot of stuff to go over in Genesis chapter 21.

And I know two hours sounds like a long time, but when we're dealing with typology, it just seems like it's never enough.

I'm excited to just jump right in, um, and get us rolling.

I'll, uh, I'll open us up in prayer tonight.

Father, I just thank you so much, uh, for all that you've done for us.

And Lord, I just praise you and I thank you.

I thank you for the protection that you've given, uh, over JD's wife, uh, as she was taken to the hospital last night.

Um, Lord, I thank you for being with him and her, uh, during these times.

And Lord, I, uh, I thank you for the provisions you've given to Mike, uh, in, in giving him safe travels and be able to spend time, uh, with, uh, with the people back, uh, uh, back in the East Coast where he's at right now.

And Lord, I just pray that he has a wonderful time, uh, in, in...

That you speak through him and use him for your kingdom and your glory.

Lord, I pray that you may bless this study, um, that you may, uh, just speak through us, Lord.

Um, clear the things out of our minds that we've, uh, preconceived, and, and the things that we have, um, presupposed about what you want us to speak about, but ins- instead, just use us as mouthpieces to speak the things that you want us, um, to shine light on.

Guide us, um, teach us, help us, and, uh, Lord, just, uh, just use us for your kingdom and your glory.

We praise you and we thank you, and we ask this in Jesus' name.
