Romans 11

But, um, we are- we're gonna jump, like I said last episode if you listened, we're gonna jump to Ephesians on this one.

I had to study Ephesians, uh, chapter five for our Bible study at church, [smacks lips] and, um, I didn't get a chance to finish Romans 11.

I'm still working on that.

And we're currently at the beach right now, so when I get back we'll hit Romans 11 and, uh, kinda breeze through that.

I kinda wanna give you guys some, uh, quick updates real quick.

Uh, we got- we have our calling contest October 17th.

Um, I will, um, I will be recording one probably the n- when I get back from the beach.

There are lots of pictures I showed you last week in our first session of people swimming around, because these guys are totally harmless to human beings.

But we ended the first chapter of Jonah with this verse.

Look on the screen.

Now, the Lord had arranged... a great fish to swallow Jonah.

Now that means he custom made.

If God, you don't have a problem with this.

If you believe that God created the entire universe, God created every fish in the ocean, God created every animal, God could have custom made a fish with a living room, a dinette, and air conditioning for Jonah if he'd wanted to.

So if you have a problem with God creating something special, you have a problem with the world.

It's one of the greatest attacks on the modern church is apathy.

Look at what Romans 11, verse 8 says.

God has given them a spirit of slumber.

Eyes that they should not hear and ears that, eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear.

Which is a miracle.

And the bigger issue is what does the Bible teach? Romans 11 teaches that currently the average Jew living in Israel is secular.

They're not a believer.

They're irreligious.

God tells us through Paul in Romans 11 that they have fallen asleep.

That blindness in part has come until when? The fullness of the Gentiles come in.

that God has temporarily allowed the Jews to harden their hearts.

And then it says God will turn His attention back to Israel, and there's going to be some future revival taking place in Israel.

And the

context is Romans 11, Romans, well, just two previous chapters, a couple pages in the book of Romans.

There was no chapter divisions when it was written.

Chapter 9, verse 6, they are not all Israel, which are of Israel.

Before you go, Brother Crane, can you look up and then after Brother Crane's done, can you read that portion of what J. Frank Norris said about Romans chapter 11? that you'd shared before the program, because I would like for the audience to hear that about all Israel being saved.

So go over the crane.

Yeah, I was just jumping on Romans 11, 26 there or yeah, yeah, 24, somewhere in there or 23.

And if they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, well, what he's doing is granting them a future salvation and grafting in, in their unbelief still.
