I can't forget because you have a hospital right up there on Amsterdam.

I think it's Mount Sinai or like one of the buildings of it.

And there were long lines of people to donate blood because you wanted to feel something.

The fire engines, I remember as we were standing in line, they were all coming back uptown.

And may we always strive to be worthy of the example that they left behind.

ICON School of Medicine researchers at Mount Sinai followed nearly 18,000 9-11 responders.

What they found is that nearly 40% met the criteria for PTSD and about 35% for probable depression.

And what we learned from that disaster about toxic fallout, well, that's helping protect our firefighters today.

And to bring us into the horrors of present day, this week I covered a protest at Mount Sinai.

There was no other way to do that transition.

So this week I went to Mount Sinai Hospital where there was a protest led by transgender New Yorkers as well as their allies against Mount Sinai's 4.30 p.m. on a Friday before Labor Day settlement with the Department of Justice to basically end care for transgender youth, a longstanding program that they've had in order to end an investigation by the DOJ into their medical practices.

This was like the most kind of backhanded way that Mount Sinai could do it.

I have to go to work.

With transportation shut down, she grabbed her stethoscope and ran roughly 10 miles toward Mount Sinai against a stream of people fleeing north, telling police officers who stopped her, I'm a doctor.

I'm going to the hospital.
