Gordo, Pat, and then eventually Sammy are getting good vibes from the Red Sox sweep of the Giants, but the biggest story was of course Rafael Devers' first return to Fenway Park. Was the fans'…
Sammy's coming.
We don't know when he's gonna be on, but we do know he's gonna be here.
He's dying to talk about Rafi Devers.
We're gonna talk a ton about the Rafi Devers stuff.
It's crazy.
Like, the, at the end of the last pod, we like briefly, briefly brought it up, and it was like, yeah, like we're definitely gonna talk more about this on the next pod.
And I knew, I knew the Devers thing was gonna be a big storyline, but I think I'd kinda put it out of my mind just because I've...
I'm so focused on what's going on with the team, and the fact that they've just had this historic turnaround, and we're talking about the playoffs, and we're talking about getting guys back.
We're talking about the games.
There's just so much to talk about.
And the fact of the matter is like Rafi Devers having a, a down and up, kinda up now year on a bad team in San Francisco that we don't fa- ever see the Red Sox play, it's just not front of mind.
And, and man, when, when the series started, like the day of the series, I really went down memory lane with Devers and I, I, I developed a stronger take on it.
In kinda all three games where I would say they didn't play their best, but when you're playing a team like the Giants, a team that kinda has leaky everything.
The, the rotation it's, it's Logan Webb and then what, but the Red Sox really took Logan Webb to the woodshed.
The bullpens got nothing.
Like when they pulled Logan Webb, it was seven ERA after seven ERA guy, and they really had nothing, no one suitable to close out game two.
And it just led to the Red Sox being able to exploit every one of their weaknesses and find a way to win all these games on the backs of guys that...
I mean, that's, it's kind of been the backbone of the, of the, of the Red Sox turnaround is being able to, to lean on guys that you wouldn't go into the year thinking.
Like no, the, it's not those guys.
It's Jamai Jones who's sitting over 500 with this team right now, and yeah, he doesn't get a ton of playing time because they haven't faced a lot of lefties, but that guy deserves a ton of love.
