World Series

The way that he crafts what he does, it's very hard to make it look that seamless.

He's been doing it that way at, for, in the World Series in his 20s, 'cause he learned it from his daddy.

So this isn't about ESPN actually doing anything other than signaling to everybody that we in the NFL have bought the best, and I think it's symbolic and interesting.

They've been a team for 25 years.

I will bet you that it is for him to work for Disney for that five years, $100 million, as whatever Disney says.

So for example, MLB is about to sell a national package.

What happens if ESPN is back at the table with MLB, and let's pretend ESPN gets a playoff round, like the World Series.

Uh, we love to compare 2026 to 2016, when the Cubs won the World Series, because, you know, 10 years, and it's been this celebration all year.

The biggest difference between the two teams is clearly the pitching.

Yes.

Yeah.

Right.

Like, I still kind of trusted those guys, but if I was trusting them in game seven of the World Series-

And for the last month of the season, he, he saves like three or four really key games that enable you to, to win the pennant.

And then in the World Series, he performs beautifully, saves a couple key games, and you win the World Series.

Now, there's the parade, [laughs] right? And everybody gets the World Series ring.

Can you imagine that shortstop who p- the, the, what he wanted above all, above all was to win the World Series.

Can you imagine that shortstop saying, "Hey, wait a minute.

Wait a minute.

That guy only played, you know, one month.

He, he only pitched a handful of games.

Has he done a great job? No.

Check back if he wins a World Series.

Then you've done a great job.

Because of where they were less than two weeks ago, if they don't make the postseason, it is a failure.

And if they are healthy and they have a healthy lineup...

You know, they're going to have days like they had yesterday, but you got to believe that with this pitching staff and everything that's going on with the, you know, the the regular baseball players, if you will, then they should be one of the favored teams to go to the World Series.

And I would imagine they still are on Polly Market and Cal Shee and Fandle and everybody else.

I believe so.

I said he played more games than Keith Hernandez.

You said Keith Hernandez won a World Series.

Yeah, no, I don't.

And if they are healthy and they have a healthy lineup...

And I pulled up a baseball highlight because apparently we have a new leading candidate for the MVP in the National League.

And I got to be honest with you, as much as I love my Dodgers, there's a part of me that thinks that this dude and this team is going to the World Series this year.

MVP.

Where we'd be a playoff team, like a perennial playoff team.

That we turn ourselves into the Yankees where, you know, down the road, hopefully we'd be upset about not getting to the World Series because we're in the playoffs every single year.

And that's on the heels of getting to the fifth game of the NLCS and signing Juan Soto.

Yeah, it's been terrible.

Bellinger's starting to get going a little bit.

So that's good for the Yankees.

But they, I mean, to win the World Series, I think they can get to the World Series with a compromised judge.

I think to win the World Series, they need Aaron Judge.

Has he done a great job? No.

Check back if he wins a World Series.

Then you've done a great job.
