Meet Me At Musial, Episode 428, Are The Cardinals Taking On Water?

Yeah, we kind of talked about it a little bit before the show about, you know, that's a good phrase at this point.

Because I felt like, you know, they are who they are.

We've been pretty fired up.

But in this series, it seems like it's flipped a little bit to where Arizona kind of senses a little bit of blood in the water and the Cardinals are playing a lot of defense.

And Arizona's taking a lot of the advantage of the opportunities where the Cardinals aren't.

Can't drive any runs in.

And you can kind of see it being more of a veteran team that can kind of see that, hey, we're getting back into this.

Let's play pretty well, go in and win a series.

So, yeah, I was a little bit torn about yesterday.

I had an event last night where I wouldn't have been able to watch anyway, but they were rained out.

In the back of my mind, I'm thinking, well, I really wish they would have had a chance to at least split the series instead of look like you lose it.

I mean, considering that you have to hold out until July 23rd to do it.

But ultimately, with what they're going through on the bump, As far as the starting rotation and the bullpen, I think they needed a break overall.

And I think some of the young hitters are starting to hit a wall a little bit.

Yeah, maybe some of that.

It's really weird scheduling, too, though, just as a passing thing.

Usually a four-game series, you're in that game in the afternoon, which I don't know what St. Louis weather was yesterday, but I probably could have gotten that in.

For some reason, it was scheduled.

It's a good point.

I did

– Well, that's a great point because I had forgotten that wasn't it.

Because I naturally went into it thinking it was a noon start.

I kind of based my schedule this week around it being a noon start yesterday.

So that's a great call.

Yeah, I know.
