The Department of Homeland Security raided the Washington, D.C. home of Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar.

She became a U.S. citizen in 2000 when she was 17, so a minor, after fleeing her home country, technically which still has an ongoing civil war.

According to the Department of Justice, the warrant to search Omar's home was quote-unquote judicially approved, though they aren't saying by which judge or court.

and are for some reason are being dodgy when asked if they mean that it was approved by a federal judge, even though that's technically what judicially approved is supposed to mean.

So I don't know why they're being weird about this, but they're being weird about it.

The warrant is also at least, according to DHS and DOJ officials, related to some kind of investigation into Omar's immigration and naturalization process... 30 years ago, so well past these statute of limitations, if any kind of fraud took place.

According to reporting, agencies, documents, campaign finance records, electronics, things that really wouldn't have anything to do with what they said they were there to get, generally speaking.

If it is something to do with an accusation of fraud, when she got her green card or applied for naturalization when she was a minor, those forms were signed and then filled out by her father, who is now dead, and then later Omar signed off on them.

And like I said before, this is well past the statute of limitations with this kind of thing.

And also, under federal law, the Immigration and Naturalization Act, immigrants who unknowingly commit fraud or fraud is committed on their behalf without them knowing, they're protected from being punished for that fraud.

If this is what this investigation is about, it's probably not going to hold up in court.

This could also be about a racist conspiracy that's been out there for more than a decade, that Ilhan Omar married her brother in order to help him immigrate to the U.S. That claim was started by a single post in an online forum that was then picked up by a right-wing blog that has remained a constant attack against her, including one that's been made repeatedly by the president.

I have investigated this personally multiple times and have never found any evidence that this is true.
