866: The Ternus Doctrine

We're going to start right at the start, which was the opening of this event.

One opened with a bunch of cinematic footage all captured on 18 Pro with its new variable aperture, which we'll get to later.

But we had a passing of the torch that I thought was really, really poignant.

I actually loved the moment.

where we see Tim Cook just for a few frames.

He walks in, we hear his voice, and he says, no, no, no, no, not me.

That's your opener.

And he points back to John Ternus.

And I don't know how you felt, David.

I loved this handoff.

I thought it was great.

Yeah, it was really, I mean, look, this is the greatest handoff in American corporate history.

Yeah.

I was a business lawyer for 30 years.

I saw some really ugly handoff between CEOs.

And And we've seen it in public in some of these corporations, like the transition from, what was that guy's name before Bob Iger at Disney? Michael...

Well,

it was Mike Eisner.

Michael Eisner.

Yeah, there you go.

Michael Eisner.

That was ugly.

I mean, there have been some really bad ones.

But this is great.

Apple had a plan.
