So I thought that they're definitely kinda playing on that as an Apple show, which I found fun.

It was former CEO Tim Cook talking about John Ternus taking the reins, which he did earlier this week, and introduced the iPhone Duo.

Uh, I'm int- with him, see what comes out of there with him at the helm 'cause this is, this feels a little bit like him making Tim Cook announcements today.

You could have pulled Turnus out of this event and put Tim Cook into it, and it was the same flow, the same sort of stage direction, um, you know, on not even on an actual stage, all recorded, and it was just all of that felt very familiar.

But I did think that that moment at, that beat at the beginning was interesting.

You wonder if that will indeed lead to an upgrade cycle.

Well, what's interesting about Apple, and congrats to John Ternas for taking over from Tim Cook, who has had an amazing run as a non-founder CEO, probably the greatest of all time.

But what Apple has done very, very consistently, whether it was Jobs, Cook, or now Ternas has been, taking categories that are new and creating new ones at the highest end of the price points.

Now, this is really important, is that Clay Christensen, the author of The Innovator's Dilemma, has noted that disruption comes from below at lower prices.

Do you see any potential risks on the horizon? What would you say are the biggest?

I think the biggest risk is right now in supply chain and manufacturing and the move of Tim Cook being a chairman.

I think it's a strategic move that focuses more on supply chain.

There was a time when nine out of 10 iPhones were manufactured in China, and that is a risk.

Yeah.

One thing, one, one thing I did notice about the actual event, if you noticed, I mean, you know, making a comment about Tim Cook at the intro, that was beautiful.

I absolutely cracked up.

And then, um, if you notice, John Turn- Turnus, Turnus was pretty much the whole show.

Well.

I, I, I liked, I thought it was very classy the way Tim, you know, y- you kind of were expecting him, and he said, "No, I'm not the guy.

That's the guy." And John did his little welcome for himself, if you will, and then just dove right in, and it just, it, it felt very much like a Tim Cook kind of transition.

Um, I really liked it.

Tim Cook could still out-earn Apple's new CEO.

He's a hardware engineering executive.

And so they need this guy to spark a wave of innovation because you didn't get a whole lot of innovation during the Tim Cook days.

And so he struts out on stage today, says we've been imagining quite a lot.

He said to the hundreds gathered in the audience, pretty much media.

We think you're going to like what you're going to see.

Tim Cook and the rest of the Apple executive team was sitting in the front row.

But they're having to raise the prices.

They also released today some other devices, including a new Apple Watch model and updated AirPods.
