Apple Vision Pro

So these things are really hovering in front of you, the kind of virtual desktop equivalent.

is actually a replacement for a big screen because big screens from Apple are about the same price as an Apple Vision Pro.

So maybe if you're really invested in the Apple ecosystem, it might make some sense.

But no, I'm not recommending the Vision Pro.

Augmented reality has found its way into an operating room.

Medical technology company Stryker now says an app it created for Apple's Vision Pro headset was used during a hip surgery at Duke Health.

The company says it's the first time the app has been used in a real world operation.

The Vision Pro would allow the surgeon to see the patient but also see things like surgical planning tools and CT scans.

AI chip giant NVIDIA is spending $13 billion to buy AI platform Hugging Face.

Researchers use it to share millions of artificial intelligence models.

I hope that's okay, Apple.

It was Vision Pro launches.

And I say, hey, this doesn't look like any evolutionary improvement over HoloLens.

And I get people coming out of the woodwork on Twitter saying, Juan, you must not care about progress.

Who even would care about Microsoft's headset from years ago? Again, purposely missing the point that I was saying it wasn't any dramatic evolution over HoloLens.

And then it totally flops in the market.

And now you've got people who are, it's safe for me to at least criticize the Vision Pro.

Apple was just ahead of their time.

I shouldn't feel that way, but I do.

What do you mean? Because I don't know, just based on the history with Apple Vision Pro coming out and L, I remember saying, oh, I mean, even at the time, I thought, you know, be my eyes, magnification, all these things that would be amazing on the Vision Pro headset.

And they're like, no, no, we're locking down the cameras.

You can't access them.

I presume AI will soon be able to handle this for you rather easily either way.

The Apple Vision Pro is a dud with consumers.

They did not deliver the killer apps, interface, and linked capabilities to justify the price point, charging issues, and weight, but technically it is an excellent product such as improving performance in endoscopic lacrimal surgery while being under 1% of the cost of an endoscopic display tower.

The linked study has low sample size, so treat with caution.

So we basically took a super sharp image, very high resolution image of the laser on the wall.

Now you take that, you put it inside of Apple Vision Pro.

So now you're isolated, you're inside of VR, just looking at the thing.

What's weird, we discovered is that if you happen to be on DMT when you're looking at it inside of Apple Vision Pro, you will see the code in the image.

But what's more, the code is no longer moving.

Great.

We did a couple of things, be it spatial commerce or so.

Even if it's not, you know... get no mass adoption, and Apple Vision Pro was not what probably most people thought what could happen in Meta and so on.

But we were really like, this is kind of our DNA with Visionary.

This is kind of, okay, let's try it out.
