Everybody's like, "That's an interesting name." Yeah, it's a demon.

[laughs] I want...

That'd be interesting.

So you'll get the nice design and everything on all phones, but the Apple intelligence will only kick in for the 15 Pro and later.

So here you're getting Siri AI where I remember during the setup process, it was indexing the whole phone.

So I was looking at every message, every email, everything, every photo so that it could surface information when I needed it.

If I was making a phone call about a hotel booking or a holiday, it would then put those emails on the screen so that I knew my confirmation numbers and other information that I may have needed during that call.

You think about if you've got like 35,000 photos and videos on your phone, that doesn't just happen in an instant.

Same if you've got heaps of apps and other settings.

It actually takes time, as does indexing your phone with Siri AI.

So I found the first day I had the phone, it was running the battery down really quickly.

And owners of certain Apple devices can now submit a claim to get their slice of a $250 million settlement.

[beep] Apple's Siri AI, introduced in beta with iOS 27, brings expanded conversational and contextual capabilities to compatible iPhones.

The assistant can follow related questions across a conversation, making tasks such as trip planning and product research more natural.

Camera-based visual intelligence allows Siri to identify information, recognize objects, and interact with the physical world.

On-screen awareness enables actions such as updating contacts, sending photos, and creating reminders from visible content.

Siri can also use information stored on the device to retrieve bookings, locate messages, anticipate appointments, and offer personalized reminders.

Its integration across Apple and third-party apps is designed to streamline workflows and automate everyday tasks.

New writing tools help users revise, summarize, and improve text, while a dedicated app stores previous interactions.

A piece from MacRumors says some owners of Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 are being hit with unexpected reboots.

According to the site, users in the MacRumors forums described their watches suddenly displaying the Apple logo and restarting while they're interacting with the device when doing things like using Siri AI, editing watch faces, opening Maps or the App Store, starting phone calls, and recording workouts.

Some reboots have even occurred when the watch was apparently idle.

Similar posts are said to be turning up on Reddit and in Apple Community Support...

It did, however, continue registering taps.

Of course, he couldn't use the usual shutdown mode because he couldn't swipe to execute.

They didn't try the forced restart, but Allison wondered whether Siri AI could do the trick.

She said, shut down to Apple's virtual assistant.

And he said, I think you say good yontif.

And so I asked Siri, do they say good yontif? And Siri said, this is with the new iOS.

Siri said, I found a few people in your contacts that might match what you're looking for.

Would you like to call Liz? What? I'm not joking.

It's a good yawn to, here's Liz, blah, blah, blah.

And that is good because paper cuts suck.

One challenge to note, a major release feature that's in heavy air quotes is Siri AI.

That's right, two great tastes that taste great together.

Siri, the widely mocked assistant that's been around for ages, is now becoming Siri AI, so it can still be incompetent, just more confident about it.

We talked a little bit about this leaking into the Apple Watch release last week.

Well, now it's everywhere.

Yay.

One thing that's interesting is that reviewers and beta testers are saying that the model that powers Siri AI, Apple intelligence, looks like it's been built in such a fashion that you can swap it out for something else like an open AI or a Claude, which is interesting.

I just ate lunch and I'm still hungry.

Yeah, but my first smartphone was the iPhone 4 because it was pre-Siri.

I don't know when.

I definitely had something pre-Siri.

Yeah.

Because I remember when Siri came out, it was like, what?

Yeah.

Like, Siri was a big deal, and now Siri sucks.
