Episode 481: Just Us

[beep] Um, it's just the three of us this week.

There's been so much going on of late, um, that we felt we needed a second just us, uh, you know, fairly quickly on the la- on the heels of the last one.

I mean, if only just to talk about, you know, some of the most recent events from the last week or so.

Um, you know, we've got the first patch for, uh, the 27 releases.

27.01 has been, uh, dropped.

And I was so thrilled, so thrilled to see the login window fix for platform single sign-on, uh, delivered in 27.01 and s- and it was pulled forward from the betas.

And, boy, oh, I don't know who at Apple made sure that that happened, but I, I think we all owe you some beers

Yeah.

You know, given the number of messages I've seen in Slack, Jamf Nation, the Microsoft-

...

Mac Admins LinkedIn group of people going, "Platform single sign-on has just stopped working." You know, often literally-

Yeah

... below a post where someone has just said, "Hey, it's a thing.

You should restrict the ability to upgrade." Um, and I guess this is a sign that a lot of people are using this, if it became that much of an issue that they had to move this forward, which is a good things, you know? So, um, yeah, really, really happy that this is out.

There's still a few other sharp edges, but on the whole-

I, I think seeing Apple be able to move quickly when they need to, um-

... is a good thing.

One, one of the other things sort of lurking around at the moment is people finding that, um, deferral restrictions from Sequoia haven't been as robust.

I haven't seen any sort of clarifications on that yet.

I know, you know, trying to apply those deferrals with configuration profiles can often be a little bit tricky.
