Report from Checkpoint says a Chinese language group called Gambling Goblin has compromised about 30 Brazilian servers, mainly at local governments and education organizations for more than a year.

The attackers install Apache modules and Linux tools, that make gambling-themed phishing content appear to come from legitimate government domains, boosting trust and search rankings.

Researchers say they don't know the initial access method or how connected the web servers are to internal networks, but the same access could be reused for malware delivery or deeper compromise.

Testing in different hardware is super important because I have two computers and one MacBook.

So I can test in Mac, in Linux and on Windows, but it's just one computer.

So suddenly someone shows up with some weird GPU or like, OK, this person has a very slow GPU and a super fast CPU or the opposite.

And you start finding like weird timing issues and stuff like that.

Yeah, I mean, that's something that I explored recently when I was traveling was running whatever local media server I needed on the laptop and then using my phone as a client to then Chromecast it back to a Chromecast, which did work.

I was running Chrome OS Flex, so I was running Jellyfin inside the Linux VM on an 8th Gen i5.

So performance wasn't great.

But again, it was a very limited subset of media.

So if you have like a single Helios box, you can deploy a bunch of other zones.

Zones are like jails or containers on Linux.

And so you can only run one global zone.

And so like, okay, that was my intro to A4x2.

They were simply playing capture the flag in a digital environment.

If the mathematically most efficient way to capture the flag is to access the Linux environment, locate the log directory, and overwrite text strings to bypass a security limit, the agent simply executes it.
