I wanna take you to the very first chapter in the New Testament for a little while.

It's a chapter full of names that don't really mean much to a lot of people today.

There are certain stories that are inextricably intertwined with certain names.

Our oldest son Skyler is named Skyler for a very deep and biblical reason because my wife chose to jump out of an airplane at 13,500 feet over Pensacola, Florida when she was 28 years old and later discovered that she was pregnant at the time, hence the name Skyler.

Our youngest, Cooper, his middle name is Mitchell, named after his beloved uncle, my brother-in-law, Pastor Mitch Wilburn.

Do you remember going to McDonald's? Years ago, when Ronald McDonald was the, some of you were going, who was Ronald McDonald? He was the clown that the marketers banned because it freaked all the kids out.

And then there was a story that came out of Kansas City, Missouri a few years ago that a Burger King was robbed by an 18-year-old whose legal name was Ronald McDonald's.

And when you read that story, if you're like me, you just had this image of some clown being carted off in a Burger King sign in the background.

Jimmy Carter, probably maybe among the most moral of our presidents the last hundred years or so, believe it or not, in some ways.

And yet this Jimmy Carter that was arrested for burglary was arrested by a police officer whose legal name was Richard Nixon.

Now, I tell you that story, and why are you laughing? You're laughing because instantly you think of the irony of Jimmy Carter being arrested by Richard Nixon, famous for the Watergate scandal in the early 70s.

There are just certain names that have certain stories inextricably intertwined with them, stories that are so closely intertwined with them you don't even saddle children with their names in the moor.

When's the last time you met a little boy named Lee Harvey? When's the last time you met a little boy named Judas? God, Judas is running around.

When's the last time you met a little girl named Jezebel? I mean, there are just certain names that are inextricably intertwined with certain stories.
