Now, the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Edo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat? We just rattled off several books that are not in our Bible, but apparently were

written at that time.

Three prophets that wrote out, but that wasn't included in the canon of Scripture, so we would call them literary but non-canonical prophets.

So there were certain things that might have been borrowed from uninspired authors, and they say who they were quoting from.

And then there are other cases where you were... borrowing things that were quoted from.

And very clearly in Ecclesiastes chapter 12, Solomon tells us that many of the Proverbs were sought out and set in order.

They were not written by him.

And there's more sex magic in the Bible than you think.

It's a combination of three words for the sun.

What you say is what you experience.

So Solomon has assembled these Proverbs, but there were some that came from other places and other writers during his time.

He does not take everything that they wrote.

He chooses carefully that which the Holy Spirit is revealing to him needs to be communicated.

But I want to start.

with second chronicles and i'm going to read rather than all of this i'm going to read second chronicles and i'm going to start with verses 11 through i forget i'll get into that in just a minute but after having dedicated the temple to the lord and offering sacrifices to god How did God make himself known? So what I'm talking about is if you go back and read 2 Chronicles 6-7, Solomon and God's people have just completed God's temple.

and they are dedicating that to the Lord.

We're talking about an incredible number of sacrifices of bulls and cattle and sheep and goats and just tons of it, and then God came down and threw a fire, leapt all that up, and And then they bowed in prayer to God and they dedicated this temple to God.

But God made himself known there and he made himself known by appearing to Solomon at night.

Now, it may have been a dream, but it says that God appeared and then he spoke to Solomon.

So I'm going to go ahead and read 2 Chronicles 7, verses 11 through 22.

So Solomon finished the Lord's temple and the royal palace.
