Final Summer League Impressions Of Cam Boozer + LeBron James' Free Agency Decision

So Summer League is over.

So that means what do we do? We take a look back at the whole thing.

We have our Summer League evaluations.

You evaluate the five most intriguing players.

But first, we got to get some final thoughts here.

Mike, what did you just kind of take? You were with this team for a good bit of the Summer League over there in Salt Lake and then some of Vegas before you passed it on to Jessica Benson.

Yeah, I mean, I felt like, you know, I haven't seen this team from the very beginning of Summer League all the way through, you know, their first weekend in Las Vegas, man.

I love the approach, and one of the things that I noticed right off the jump was that they were going to start Cam Boozer, and then they were going to start four other guys who combined for 100 regular season starts around him.

So they were going to have a team that had some regular season experience to help usher in this promising, promising rookie, 18 years old at the time, to get his feet wet in the NBA Summer League.

And the Grizzlies from that very first game all the way to the championship game in Las Vegas showed that fight, showed that consistency, showed that commitment to we want to go out here and build and try to win.

And you saw development almost every single step of the way, man.

So I think overall they did a phenomenal job in the summer league from Coach Eric Schmidt and his ability to step into that big chair to lead this team and to all of the young vets and the rookies for following suit.

You know, sometimes Summer League is not always pleasant on the eyes, but as Chris Vernon always says, if they care, I care.

And we watched a team in Summer League that they absolutely cared.

And one of the guys, one of the main guys, when you look at the five guys from this roster that we're kind of going to be highlighting here.

The guy who's going to be most talked about, and Jarvo, I'll go to you here, Cam Boozer.

And your just thoughts on seeing Cam Boozer.

Oh, I thought he was as advertised.

You know, everybody thinking, I was a big Caleb Wilson guy.

Everybody knows that I talked about that.

And Caleb Wilson was spectacular.

But Cam Boozer affects winning.

And the plays that he makes, like in the very first matchup between the two, he gets the swipe and he takes off and gets the dunk.

And it's like, okay, all right, we're ready to go.
