I don't think MLB will be the first league to do it.

I wouldn't surprise me if the NBA, with the NBA Cup, maybe tries to figure out on their next CBA a different number, 72, 69, some lesser number, which could maybe open the door to other leagues considering a similar move.

Would that be something you would potentially be in favor of if they ever had a discussion about the season being too long and dropping it? 154 is a historic number.
