Yep

... like, impending doom, like, that's for tomorrow to worry about, all right? But for now, you know, it's, it's interesting, 'cause on our Monday episode we ranked basically the top 10 players on the Mavs and Grizzlies roster combined.

[laughs]

And going into it, I thought it'd be, like, seven to three or eight to two Mavs.

Yeah.

And it, it ended up being six to four, and you could have...

There was a really good case for it to be five-five, and the Grizzlies are probably gonna be one of the worst teams in the league this year.

So there is a chance that they did, but I would say even if they whiffed on the off-season, and therefore, like, aren't that much better than they were last year, they were 26 and 56 or whatever, um, even if Kyrie coming back is the only improvement that they make, that's still good enough to win a bunch more games.

He's not a good shooter.

He shot 25% from three, um, last year with, when he was with Utah, and then 33% from three when he was with the Grizzlies, who he was traded mid-season.

Um, so, and he's never been a very good shooter.

Like, he shot 37% the year before that, 30, almost 32% the year before that, 34%.

Uh, I don't know.

Uh, it, look, Konchar is a fine player.

I think a lot of people that watched him in Memphis, like a lot of Grizzlies fans were like, "Wow," you know.

They, they kind of appreciate it.

I am going to continue on at this point because it, it's hard to put a team that is this young and this inexperienced and, uh, with all the uncertainties around it But I'm gonna put on the OLI, on the outside looking in, Cedric Coward, Jeremy Grant, and Jalen Wells.

That's actually really solid if you're looking at it from the Memphis Grizzlies standpoint, who have basically started over, but have done a really good job of kind of accumulating picks and bringing in...

And they got Cam Boozer in the draft, number three overall, I believe.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

And I'm looking at Phoenix, whatever.

New Orleans, r- really good actually.

Uh, Memphis, we talked about Cedric Coward, Jeremy Grant, Jalen Wells.

Uh, Denver, whatever they're doing, I don't know.

And then he's able to like, you know, hold his own in the paint because he is so strong, you know, for me naturally, you're like, okay, can you get like Kroger brand Draymond green out of this sort of, but to me, it's kind of like Boris D out asked because he can handle the rock a little bit.

And, you know, play make a little bit, but I think Lakers fans are a little bit underwhelmed by AK just because, you know, with a two-way spot, you kind of want to stream in somebody that's like, I think the Memphis Grizzlies are about to cut some people, right? So if you can get Chris Murray or Devin Carter went to the Celtics, if you can get more of those high upside guys.

But yeah, with AK, I think they're a little bit underwhelmed by the meat and potato-ness of the versatility that he provides while not necessarily shining in any one category, if that makes sense.

And also he's not super explosive, but...

Before that, Dylan Brooks averaged 17 for, you know, the Grizzlies.

I don't know if they got to start staring at people, acting weird, doing all that other stuff Dylan Brooks does.

But if he can be Schmillen Brooks, Dylan's going to, he's on his way to $200 million.

Do you want to take a guess as to what team he signed with? [laughs]

The Memphis Grizzlies.

No, the champions, man.

He's like, "I'm gonna go play for the Knicks." John Konchar, New York Knickerbocker.

Uh, Paul George obviously with, you know, his All-Star appearances, he is a guy that's likely going to the Hall of Fame, that is, you know, i- in a conversation, uh, with, you know, with many other all-time greats.

And Mike Conley's a guy who's going into his 20th year, who has all these franchise records for the Memphis Grizzlies.

He has these, all these leadership and teammate awards that he's racked up over the years, just being this great guy, great teammate, great locker room presence.

Um, and, and from a longevity standpoint, like, they are two of the players in the league that have been active the longest, right? 17th season and 20th season on the same roster, like, they immediately become the two oldest players on the team, two most veteran players on the team, and yet they also share something.
