DawgNation Daily -- the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans Beginning of the show: I discuss what five-star UGA running back commit Kemon Spell recently said about media reports linking him to…
Jeff SentellGuestPrior to that, though, let me set the stage for a conversation we're going to have with Jeff Sentell, because we have gotten some very interesting stuff from Georgia five-star running back commit Kimon Spell this week.
He writes a story about the possibility, hey, maybe USC still, uh, involved in Kimon Spell's recruitment.
Then our friends over at On3, they follow suit, and they're trying to make a thing about even more, uh, you know, programs getting involved and trying to maybe pry a guy like Spell, who's had an outstanding senior season and who's always said all the right things about Georgia.
Uh, and obviously a player that is as good as he is, well, of course you would expect that recruitment to continue.
And for Georgia, we assume that it's continuing to recruit Spell the same way it always has.
But throughout this entire process, Spell has also said the right things, seemingly steadfast in his pledge to Georgia.
If anything, it turned the volume up on that a bit after what Lloyd reported and what Steve Wiltfong had reported about other possible suitors being out there.
Let me show you a couple of things on, uh, social media here for a moment just to make sure you're aware of this.
And with some of that, people writing to, uh, [laughs] to Spell on Twitter saying, "Are you surfing the field?" Spell just simply responds back, "Go Dawgs," with the dog emoji.
So that was step one to say, "What are y'all talking about? Listen, I'm as Georgia as it ever was." But the big one would also come a little later on, as I told you.
Um, as a follow-up to what Tom Lloyd had written in 247Sports, On3 put out a big story in its own way too about all the schools that are apparently still coming after Kimon Spell.
So you got On3 that puts out now, you know, the recruiting header as rivals saying, "Hey, here's a new story for you.
USC, Penn State, Virginia Tech still recruiting five-star running back Kimon Spell," Steve Wiltfong reports, "and one school is still pushing for an official visit." Kimon Spell sees that story, goes on Twitter, and simply responds, "This has got to stop.
Go Dawgs." And as I said, that is a more forceful response than you often see from recruits as it relates to stories involving them.
