Campers and Counselors gather around the campfire for Volume 9! Jones discusses his Halloween as well as finally seeing, 'You Can See Everything'. Benjamin Rosen aka OG B.O.B. stops by to discuss the…
So once again, for the third episode in a row, we start over black and are out of time and space.
Episode one was a flash forward.
Episode two was a dream sequence.
And now here we are, episode three with a flashback.
We hear what sounds like an idyllic forest ambiance interrupted by a dangerous musical score.
And we open on feet, frantically running through the woods.
We pop wide to see it's Grace darting through the tree line.
She stops dead in her tracks at the sight of a rundown shack, presumably very deep and isolated in the woods.
We then realize the reason for Grace's haste is that she is being chased by her buddy, Baby Jason.
Benjamin, my guy, Baby Jason is back.
Now, he is being silly with a colorful toy pistol, and he has a pretty gnarly gash on his arm that Grace becomes concerned about.
But interestingly, Benjamin, Jason doesn't seem to notice this gash.
Question mark? Feels like an important detail the show is intentionally hanging a lantern on? Jason then sets his sights on the shack, and here we continue to realize that Grace is a complex and complicated character.
While Jason starts to chicken out, Grace peer pressures him to go and investigate.
They enter the shack holding hands, only to pull away as it gets a bit awkward.
Jason finds some corn and theorizes that the shack was used to make moonshine.
It's a very exciting discovery.
It could be their new home base, their fortress.
Bruce Wayne discovering the Batcave, as well as the Ninja Turtles discovering the sewers come to mind in this moment.
Jason then finds a secret hiding spot where they can stash some of their supplies.
I'm sure that stash spot will come into play into the story later.
Grace and Jason then pinky swear to keep this place a secret as we cut to Grace waking up in the shack the next morning.
We realize coming off of episode two, she must have sought refuge from the storm here in the shack after being kicked out of the party.
As she stumbles out of the shack into the morning light, barefoot, mascara running, much like I used to do in my drinking days.
She makes her way through the woods.
