Crystal Lake

So, yeah, so I'm really looking forward to us getting through that.

And then in terms of TV, and then we'll move on to a couple of other things, but in terms of TV, in the last spot, which we are, God, over halfway through now, we've only got, I think, three episodes left, is we are smack dab in the middle of Crystal Lake.

Thank you for releasing it all in one shot.

Oh, my God.

Great.

So...

I don't, again, I mean, like, I don't think there, I guess, I feel like there was a lot of hype and so it shouldn't be surprising, but Crystal Lake is so fucking good.

It is very good.

And, you know, we'll wrap up on Chad.

Chad's got a spooky one who says he just finished Crystal Lake on Peacock.

I watched Crystal Lake.

Did you finish it?

I'm halfway through Crystal Lake, and I will say, so far, I have enjoyed it.

Okay.

It's a little spooky.

That's why I'm watching.

If anything, body count was a ripoff in trying to be Friday the 13th.

So why not spend your time with Friday the 13th? So my flavor of the month is I say stay at home, open up your Peacock app, and go straight to Miss Crystal Lake and watch the best eight episodes of Friday the 13th that you can see.

And I...

Generally, I'm so impressed by this series and what they've done.

It's from the showrunner of It, Welcome to Derry.

So if you're a big fan of It, Welcome to Derry, I think a lot of what that series does is brought over to here.

I think some of the subplots are better in Crystal Lake than they probably were in Welcome to Derry.

There's maybe one too many subplots in that that I was like, okay, let's get back to the kids.

And I'm Mark.

This week we're doing episode three of Crystal Lake, titled Part Three.

Episode three was directed by Michael Lennox, story by Jen Silverman and Pia Wilson, and teleplay by Jen Silverman.

Welcome back to the podcast, our fearless leader, Mr.

I mean, every single episode is just...

Life is like a box of chocolates and so is...

Aunt Crystal Lake.

Because it's like every little episode is its own little horror movie.

Okay, so we have on Peacock.

in the A24 series Crystal Lake, which was pitched as a prequel for the Friday the 13th franchise.

There's a movie in development tuned to Jason Voorhees.

So this TV series is centered around his mom, Pamela Voorhees.

Now, I give Jordan Peele a pass here with his films.

They are meant to have the social dialogue and commentary, but he doesn't do it to attack other people in a personal way.

The big issue with Crystal Lake is now there's a line in the sand.

Okay.

I remember watching Bleach as a kid and now seeing as an adult.

how great it is and seeing some of the best parts of the manga finally get animated and finally like shared today was amazing so shout out to that um i haven't checked out any of the new animes for this season so let me guys let me know in the comments what are some shows i should be checking out for this season um i have to go do my research as far as tv shows i just finished crystal lake um speaking of horror you see the little guy down here i said it's halloween coming up um so i just finished crystal lake which is like the prequel series to jason the friday the 13th slasher stuff so it kind of gives you a backstory of why jason is like you know how he is so Like stuff like that, check out Crystal Lake.

It's playing on Peacock.

Carrie was another good show that just recently dropped on Amazon Prime.

Yes, I'm gatekeeping those.

I'm gatekeeping our candy.

Anyone have any good slasher films? I just watched Crystal Lake, so I definitely think of Friday the 13th of good spooky movies to watch during Halloween.

Michael Myers, of course, Halloween.

No, he was not.

You watch Crystal Lake.

I don't.

I won't.

Is it really scary?

Yeah, it's Crystal Lake.

Yeah, because I saw a trailer for it and I thought, oh, I love her.

No, too scary, can't
