AAH #800 – 2026 Auto Landscape: Winners and Losers

We're going to start with Buick because that's the first that is on the list of General Motors.

They offer the Enclave, which is the large vehicle that they have.

They have the Encore GX, the Envision, and the Invista.

All of these are crossover vehicles.

Adam? Can Buick prosper

with vehicles? You know what? America still loves SUVs, but America seems to be talking a lot about sedans.

Buick is rumored to be bringing a sedan back in a couple of years.

Cadillac has confirmed they're doing a new CT5, and that platform business case won't fly with a single car.

So doing a Buick off that platform makes sense.

It could be a Regal.

It could be a GNX.

Something all, you know, I personally like the lower seating position.

The other thing is that minivan sales went up 20% last year.

And I don't know if that's a blip.

I don't have kids.

I don't need a minivan.

But if there is a long-term growth in minivans, Buick has a bunch of minivans in China.

Could probably work pretty well in the U.S. market.

Except for there's that little thing called tariffs.

Well, yeah, you'd have to figure out how to build it here and take all the Chinese hardware and software out of it.

But at least they've been designed for overseas.

So, you know, if you have a fair way to tool it up over here, I'd give them, hey, Mercedes thinks there's room for vans in the U.S., so why not Buick?
