Ford Mustang

No updates in the garage.

I sold the Mustang.

I sold the GTO.

The 911 SC that I was trying to buy from a friend's estate got bought by someone who has much deeper pockets than I do.

I know those are two dramatically different Porsches.

But one of them could replace the Boxster as more of a fun, more modern version of a Porsche, and then one of them would be old school.

Now, I'm always up to a great Mustang K-Code, preferably, or an entry-level Shelby GT350.

And we're driving on the Bay Bridge, and I see a Camaro and a Mustang, and they start racing.

And I'm like, "Oh, I'm gonna race them too." And so I start racing-

lot? It looks like there's a Mustang and it looks like, oh, that's in Rat Race.

And then I think some sort of hatchback wins.

And then they have club spec MX-5, which is NC MX-5s.

They have club spec Mustang, which is S197 Mustangs, mid 2000s to late 2000s.

And they're adding a Cayman class next year, which is like 718 turbo four cylinder Caymans.

And they asked me to come over and test drive all of them because they're trying to get them on a spec tire.

One, it changed the balance of, but it was still fun in both.

The other one, it was just like kind of meh in one and now it's fun in the other.

Then I drove the Mustangs, and the Mustang, like, didn't care.

It had a little more grip, like when the weight would land in the slalom.

So no one bought them.

Yeah, I don't get the electric Mustang at

all.

Well, it was the first trans vehicle.

Because it said, I'm a Mustang.

You went, I think you're a shitty crossover.

That then runs the risk of tarnishing the entire thing.

like you build up perceptions particularly I think in transport innovation very quickly and you can lose the confidence of the public in a similar way so obviously we're going to see these Ford Mustangs appearing on London streets I mean by the way the numbers around this are incredible right like Uber's had like something like 100,000 people expressing an interest now admittedly that's the perfect example of clicktivism this is like yeah i'm not trying to compare the two but this is kodi 2012 for i want a kind of self-driving taxi ride um where you where is my flying car where is my self-driving car right exactly right and well actually there is an interesting thing coming around the corner as well which is um electric planes um which could work for kind of shorter hops not for like long-scale things so i was talking to uh a couple of european companies uh for a piece for the standard which may well be out by now actually uh by the time that we talk um where they're aiming for like by the early 2030s to have maybe a couple of passenger routes um not between the big airports because that's not where they're suited and the the cost of getting access to the runways would be ridiculously uh prohibitively expensive for them But from like a Dublin to a Liverpool or something like that, a short hop on very small planes, nine or so passengers, because again, it becomes very difficult to power it otherwise, that might be possible.

I can't drive it like a rare car all the time.
