Burgeoning electric vehicle uptake spurred on by cheaper new models and soaring fuel costs has led to converts flooding the secondhand market with used petrol and diesel cars, with sellers increasingly forced to cut asking prices to offload their old automobiles.

Australians' newfound love affair with electric engines may have been the dominant story of the car industry this year, with an EV sold every 100 seconds in the first six months.

But the trend has also dramatically shaken up the dynamics of the used vehicle market.

Used car listings swelled to a peak of 437,855 in July, according to Autograb data covering dealerships and private listings.

Most Australians are shopping in the second-hand market, which recorded about 2.3 million sales in the same year.

Egypt's first locally assembled electric car rolled off the line yesterday.

El Nasser Automotive started producing the Mage EV at its Hilawan plant, and it's made up of 45% local parts.

This car is the electric version of China's Dongfeng Mage, and it's being built by a joint venture between state-owned El Nasser and Al Safi Group, which is Dongfeng's local agent.

The two set up the operation in 2024 with $40 million.

So I think it was Philip was asking about changes in legislation surrounding electric vehicles and requiring them to emit a noise so people who are visually impaired like him or anybody else for that matter as well, not just if you're visually impaired, can audibly hear or recognise that a vehicle is approaching.

So EVs by nature are incredibly quiet, obviously, but It's one of the things that makes them enjoyable to drive about the premium feel of them.

Of course, being an EV owner, I am biased toward EV use, EV ownership.

There are a lot more reasons to own an EV than the cost, such as its environmental friendliness.

Yes, there are controversies with that, but I have discussed that in the past and i have come to the conclusion after deep thorough research that yes owning an ev is more environmentally friendly than owning a gas operated vehicle if you want to learn about that please look at the broad body of research that has been conducted with that including studies not only my observations and estimations and humble calculations but also there have been studies done in the subject so it is just hands down a fact that is more environmentally friendly to use and own an eb than it is to use and own an ice with that i would like to discuss some revelation that i have found it's quite a surprise but it is the truth and i'd like to share that as difficult as it may be I've made a comparison between two very popular vehicles one is a hybrid vehicle meaning an ICE combined with an electric drive and that is the Toyota Camry XSE it is an HEV as they call it hybrid EV vehicle and I compared that with the ownership and use of a Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD I believe these two vehicles are in very similar categories they are both premium vehicles top tier vehicles or top trim vehicles and one the Toyota has an MSRP of $35,500 give or take few hundred dollars and the tesla has an msrp this is for 2026 of 42 500 of course give or take a couple of hundred dollars but that is the number that i am going with rounded but it is very close to the actual msrp as advertised And the difference between the two, of course, the Toyota being cheaper, the difference is $7,000.

So the Tesla costs $7,000 more.

The Toyota, again, the Camry XSE has a advertised miles per gallon efficiency of 46 MPG.

In 2008, 2009, Charlie, they had the automobile crash, that whole market crash.

At that time, that's when they put the $7,500 credits in for buying EVs, trying to get EVs up and running then.

And he was the only one that understood.

The big three didn't do it, but he understood it.

Massive reductions.

You don't like the clean fuel standards or whatever, all that stuff? We're going to get rid of a lot of that stuff, the EV mandates and all that.

So...

The distance between the conservatives and the liberals has gotten a lot smaller, and those contrast points are a lot less significant.

Samsung says that their battery that they patented should be ready to go in 2027.

And that's not only going to fuel the future of EVs, it's also going to retrofit the past.

Who's going to want to sit in a lithium-ion battery and sit at the station for an hour waiting to get a charge when you can upgrade and do this quicker? And then you have the AI industry.

As the AI industry is moving along, understand it or not, it is...

And then the cost of that's going to get outrageous if they don't start developing new processes, better, leaner ways to make, you know, refine this fuel.

Well, I mean, we can even go back to the Obama presidency, and there were people in his administration going, oh, man, all we need is $8 or $9 a gallon gasoline, and we'll be able to make the environmental changes and push the EVs and get the things we need for this country.

Well, you know, if you kill pipelines and you kill refineries, yeah, you're going to push that.

The question is, are the rest of us ready for what we have been herded into? Yeah.
