And the theory is that America's got all the time in the world and therefore we can just wait until the regime is forced to make a deal because they're out of cash.

I lean towards the other position, which is that this is a disaster and America is trying to get something that looks like a win out of it, no matter what that is.


And on top of that, I would just point you towards the article I put on Substack, I think last week sometime, about the psychology of the Iranian regime and how they frame this, because it's really important to understand how people think if you're negotiating.

Well, they all got wiped out this year, but they saw it as a noble sacrifice of suffering against what they saw as the forces of evil.

We look at them losing 400 to 500 million dollars a day and we think, my goodness, how could they possibly endure that? They look at it and they see, well, we're suffering.
