Yeah, let's make some basic observations, at least things that just jarred me as I was reading this, and then we can perhaps look at a couple of specific either words or passages that the Lord says.

For a variety of reasons, the Lord's just speaking to me pretty deeply in his word as we look at what's often called correction.

And I would imagine that most of us, as we're hearing this, at least as we start to break this open, are going to experience it the same way.

The first thing that hit me as I opened up the gospel to start to pray with it is, man, Jesus is just amazingly realistic.

You know, the church is a work in progress, which is to say that you and I are works in progress.

And we should hardly be surprised when other people say, need to, not just do, but actually need to confront us or we need to confront others.

And what the Lord's talking about in this passage is getting to the heart of that.

You know, Father John, I'm sitting here thinking about this conversation from the perspective of a woman.

It's like going to the spa and saying, what can you do with this person in front of you with this? And whatever this is needs a lot of work.

And we're being taught by the master how to, as his disciples, to have necessarily messy conversations when relational difficulties arise.
