The Stages of Faith: The Faith of an Elder | Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Evans
[organ music][organ music] God is my refuge and my strength, a very present help in death.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised.
For you, Lord, are his healing force.
I have made a choice in life, for my voice is heard in the sky.
I have made a choice in life, for my voice is heard in the sky.
The Lord is my light, and my salvation.
The Lord said, "Darkness and peace are born, and the child of God's promise saved." The Lord was my sight all along life.
The Lord supports the fleeting mind, and sends our way with cautious peace.
And as our eyes are sealed, he rests.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised.
For you, Lord, are his healing force.
Please join your hearts in prayer with mine.
Holy God, you are the beginning and the end, the one who holds all of creation and generations in your care.
You meet us in the wonder of a promise fulfilled and the mystery of a journey unfinished.
You are faithful beyond what we can see, and your goodness stretches beyond what we can know.
Thank you for the gift of worship for this time to pause, to wonder, to remember, and to draw near to you and one another.
Open our eyes to your glorious presence and awaken us a faith that trusts your promises.
With gratitude and awe, we lift our hearts in praise.
Now hear us as we pray the words our Lord Jesus taught us, saying together, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
