GamesMaster: S01E01 - Game Over

Sometimes I get to feelin' I was back in the old days, long ago.

When we were kids, when we were young, things seemed so perfect, you know.

So of course, the return, once again, to the top of the charts for Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, this time in the aftermath of the untimely passing of Queen front man Freddie Mercury.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, the re-release of the song as double A side was one of a number of tributes being paid.

Obviously, a short time in the future from where we stand in 1992, was the Freddie Mercury tribute concert.

And even now, as we record this, we are less than a, uh, a month away from-

Mm

... what would have been his 80th birthday.

Oh, wow.

Yeah, 'cause uh, the BBC did a whole series of programming on the actual night, and it's, uh, still on iPlayer.

There's some really cool stuff on there.

Some of it's older stuff that they just dragged out of the vaults.

Some of it is quite new, including one that specifically goes into, one, his last days.

Mm-hmm.

And then also what happened afterwards and the Freddie Mercury tribute concert.

But at this point, I mean, I really like These Are The Days of Our Lives as a song.

I like to go-

But I do think that a lot of the sales went because it was Bohemian Rhapsody.

And Bohemian Rhapsody-

Yeah

... is a stone cold banger.

It's one of the, the greatest operatic rock songs of all time, if not the best.

Um, and it's so weird because obviously I remember where I was when Gamesmaster started.

I just don't understand.
