I'm really confused
George McGeeHOST
2:55
... you, you, you read in the, the trade press, or you see on Barry Norman or whatever, Movies, Movies, Movies, or even GamesMaster, they announce they're making a Street Fighter movie, the game that you've been playing loads.
George McGeeHOST
3:09

You're 14 years old.
Peter MartinHOST

Peter MartinHOST
55:01
He hosted Gamesmaster and he's got some really good insights into that.
Peter MartinHOST
55:07
life ups and downs as well it's a really good listen Dominic Diamond and also a brilliant striker for Liverpool Emil Heskey I caught up with him there's a new app called the football safety app if you want to you can download it and it gives you a peace of mind if you see any criminal behavior abuse sectarian or indeed racist you can report it on this app without fear of any come back whatsoever.
Peter MartinHOST
55:32
It can get you and the family to a game just feeling that little bit safer, hopefully.
Leon CoxGUEST

um the seagulls um but the the the big draw for me at the time was to to go on the the main arcade at the front of the palace pier um which is still there now and still has some games in it but you know it tends to be more the the modern games a lot of ufo catchers um and penny falls and things but there was this one day and i was already i guess a semi-regular at the arcades 13 years old something like that um allowed to go downtown on my own because that's how it was back in the 80s um walked on the pier one day and they'd i can't remember what was there before front and center in the the big hall but this day i walked in and they had up on literal up on on literally up on pedestals they had two space harrier hydraulic machines and there were crowds around both Bear in mind, I don't know what the demographic of this show is going to be, but there's probably some folks listening who won't remember a time when you never saw a video game, you didn't know anything about a video game before you rocked up and it was just there like magic.
Leon CoxGUEST
4:20
No previews, not necessarily a review if you hadn't picked up the right magazine, certainly no video or discussion about it or whatever, no TV programs, imagine that.
Leon CoxGUEST
4:31
So you would just walk in and technology was coming on a pace and i'd probably seen like i'd seen some 3d stuff by this point that's in obviously pole position have been around for a few years some of the other sort of uh proto pseudo sprite scaling games probably but roger's planet of zoom sega's own earlier one but this one day two space harrier machines massive crowds around and the sound was cranked up And I could hear the bass line and I could hear the sound of the guy playing.
Leon CoxGUEST
5:06
Is he a flying man with a gun? Who knows? Or a flying gun with a man? I mean, I didn't care.
Cliff FosterHOST
44:04
Now joining me in the commentary box, from Mean Machines and Computer and Video Games magazine, is world famous computing celebrity Julian "Jazza" Rignall.
Cliff FosterHOST
44:13

Hello.
Cliff FosterHOST
44:15
Well, we're making history here.
Cliff FosterHOST
44:16
We're the first ever game on GamesMaster.
Cliff FosterHOST
44:18
How does that make you feel?
speaker_7SOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
44:19
It's pretty good.
Ash VersusHOST
44:54
Always sad we never got to interview him.
Peter MartinHOST
2:34
And over and above that, Ruffian, I'm not quite sure whether you remember him or not, but coming out tomorrow on our programme, we have a straight talk one-to-one with Dominic Diamond.
Peter MartinHOST
2:46
Do you remember him? He used to host the Gamesmaster on Channel 4.
Peter MartinHOST
2:50
He's on a tour at the moment, loves his football.
Peter MartinHOST
2:53
Thought I'd have a wee chat with him.
Jamie SmithGUEST
8:11
Yeah, maybe it's a core lesson of three or four different things.
Jamie SmithGUEST
8:14
So Games Master on the TV was a pretty prominent TV show, Channel 4 in the 90s.
Jamie SmithGUEST
8:20
So I was a regular viewer of that.
Jamie SmithGUEST
8:22
So that was pretty cool.
Jamie SmithGUEST
8:23
Just to see it on the big screen was cool enough for a hobby.
Jamie SmithGUEST
8:28
As I say, I found out later in life that game studios were within a stone's throw of where I grew up.
Jamie SmithGUEST
8:34
And a big part of how I found out about that was because Games Master magazine used to always do, they were almost like snip out sections of local studios or things around the country.
Jamie SmithGUEST
8:46
And they would say, hey, look at this guy who works for Rare.
John RainHOST
0:38
It's something like your dad would say.
John RainHOST
0:39
Anyway, who's this talking you're all thinking at home, even though it says on the episode? Yeah.
John RainHOST
0:45
Joining me to be that guy...
John RainHOST
0:48
Huh?
John RainHOST
1:13
So you do Cheap Show, obviously.
John RainHOST
1:15
I do, yes.
John RainHOST
1:16
And you've just had your 500th episode.
Paul GannonGUEST

Aaron DoughtyHOST
31:27
So it says here, the game's...
Aaron DoughtyHOST
31:29
Games Master gave this a 94%.
Aaron DoughtyHOST
31:31
Now, is Games Master, is that the TV show boat? It is, right? Yeah.
Aaron DoughtyHOST
31:37
And then the 92, it says, was from...
Aaron DoughtyHOST
31:43
Because I'm looking here and I don't even see a 92.
Aaron DoughtyHOST
31:27
So it says here, the game's...
Aaron DoughtyHOST
31:29
Games Master gave this a 94%.
Aaron DoughtyHOST
31:31
Now, is Games Master, is that the TV show boat? It is, right? Yeah.
Aaron DoughtyHOST
31:37
