What a weekend of Premier League football, and we have to start where everyone is still talking.

Old Trafford, Sunday afternoon, the 109th Manchester derby.

BBC Sport reports it was one of the more charged atmospheres in recent memory, and then they watched their side lose to a 10-man opponent for what is now a joint worst Premier League start since 1992.

And the goal itself? According to The Guardian, Haaland's winner was initially flagged offside before VAR intervened, ruling that Enzo Fernandez was not interfering with play in the buildup.

The problem? ProRef, the elite officiating body, came out Sunday evening and admitted that was an error of judgment, that the goal should not have stood, and that they would be reviewing the decision and had already contacted Manchester United.

New United manager Michael Carrick called it as obvious as it gets.

We're going to turn our attention now to the Manchester Derby again as we look back on Manchester City's 1-0 win against Manchester United.

And goal aside, refereeing decisions aside, I mean, this was just another Manchester United performance that just left a lot to be desired.

And going forward, they just don't have any impetus, breakthroughs.

And lo and behold, since then, an apology has come out.

to say that the decision was wrong but these things these things things around about three years ago Manchester United were the benefits of a very strange decision in similar circumstances at Old Trafford when Marcus Rashford scored when a player went for the ball in an offside position and the city defenders stopped and play was allowed to continue so Even with VAR and all the cameras and everything else that we have, there are still officials making mistakes and that's just the nature of the beast.

I say it now that it was City's turn to benefit from one and I have no qualms with doing so.

I thought City were excellent, to be honest, considering they played for over an hour with 10 men.

But City are keeping pace with them so far.

And, yeah, it's hard to look past.

Those two teams for the 1-2, given that they've already kind of stretched in a gap on the other teams you would expect to be there, and I might probably mention it in a minute or two, but they're five points clear of Chelsea, six points clear of Liverpool already, eight clear of Manchester United if you consider them title contenders before the season started.

So, yeah, are those two teams, Arsenal and City, going to drop enough points across the rest of the season for those other teams to catch up to.
