Today, Chennai is almost unrecognisable from the city where Nirupama holidayed as a child.

And one of its most successful companies has a global presence that's now the envy of entrepreneurs across the country.

This was a place where people began to see that the food that they ate at home It was the same as that, but it was cooked really well.

Saravana Bhavan is one of the largest vegetarian restaurant chains in the world.

There are more than 100 outlets in 24 countries as far afield as Canada, New Zealand and the UK.

He found an opportunity and then he grew and grew and he just didn't look back after that.

Born in 1947 to a local farmer in the small village of Poonayadi, Rajagopal was a child with big dreams.

From the age of 10, he went out of, he left his home four times and each time he failed to find the right place or, you know, somebody beat him up so he could come back or he fell ill and was sent back and so on.
