P. Rajagopal

There are more than 100 outlets in 24 countries as far afield as Canada, New Zealand and the UK.

And it's all down to the vision of one man, Pichai Rajagopal.

He found an opportunity and then he grew and grew and he just didn't look back after that.

Born in 1947 to a local farmer in the small village of Poonayadi, Rajagopal was a child with big dreams.

From the age of 10, he went out of, he left his home four times and each time he failed to find the right place or, you know, somebody beat him up so he could come back or he fell ill and was sent back and so on.

And then finally, finally, he went to his uncle's shop in Chennai.

They would just drop the goods off and just leave immediately.

They didn't have time for a chat or anything.
