Today is the day the Lord has made, and these are the times through which God has decided we shall live.

Let's begin with a predicate of sorts, shall we? Or shall we? Uh, we are told as Christians to do everything we can to be beyond blame so that when people, uh, wanna persecute us, it's persecuting us for doing the right thing.

"Blessed are you when you're persecuted for righteousness' sake." Um, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." So when we are told that time and again, to be above blame, to be blameless, um, then we need to examine that as a predicate, okay? We're being invited as Christians to share our opinion on governance of our country.

We're not being invited to go into a voting booth and say, "Here's a perfect Christian," because we ourselves are imperfect Christians.

We should vote for the most godly person we can, the most Christ-like person we can.

And if you can find a Christ-like person on a ballot anywhere in America, let me know.

We're invited to do this, and we are also told, "To whom much is given, much is expected." You have been given a nation with a massive land mass, with a massive, uh, collection of natural resources, with neighbors to the north and the south, which is a buffer against invading us, with coastlines that are relatively easy to defend, relatively easy.

You have been given a system of governance that recognizes the fact that there are rights God gave us and that government cannot take away, because God gave them to us.

It is a great entry point to the new heaven and the new earth, because here we are still somewhat free and, in comparison to the rest of the world, very free to practice our faith.

There might be candidates, there might be races in which you look at this and go, "Hey, I can't vote for either of these people." Okay, write someone in.
