But to start off, just in case folks are not familiar with the Bag of Horror slash Horse format, when we do Bags of Horror, we are not as specific in terms of all the information about the film.
It's just kind of like... train of thought just like vomit let's just talk about this not as again detailed so along with that we usually are very good about calling out spoilers and so with this being a bag we're talking about various films when we feel like we need to get into spoilers for that film we will call it out and if you want to skip ahead because you don't want spoilers just check the show notes and carly will have will have marked um when a film is being discussed and then when the spoilers are being discussed so you can hop around at your leisure but once again we will call it out don't be afraid um unless that is what you into you kinky little freak all right so let's start off with dead birds which is from 2004 it was directed by alex turner and it was written by simon barrett and if you're like i recognize that name why do i recognize that name well simon is known for your next the guest vhs various segments across the those different anthologies and The 2016 Blair Witch, Azrael, and Godzilla, Times Con, X-Con, whatever you want to say, The New Empire.
And you may be saying, Kyle, you just said you're not going to give us a lot of detail, and you just told us this whole guy's filmography.
i don't know anything about these people this is the one person where i was like oh i actually recognize this writer so i was kind of excited to see his first uh you know writing feature um yeah that's cool so i wanted to call it out because i do like a lot of his movies you're next and the guest are a lot of fun along with um azrael um but anywho abby uh tell us what is the non-spoiler just kind of log line pitch for this movie what's it about
A crew of bandits take shelter in an abandoned house after robbing a bank, quickly discovering that they may not be the only occupants.
Again, normally I'm not going to be talking about the cast too much in these films, but this one randomly just had a bunch of people I recognized in it.
I was like, Michael Shannon, Henry Thomas, who, for those who don't know, he's the little kid from E.T. And then also subsequently became Mike Flanagan's bestie and was in The Haunting of Hill House and a lot of the other Mike Flanagan films.
And then there's also Mark Boone Jr., who folks may recognize from Sons of Anarchy.
