The reason I love this is I see Kuminga doing what we wish more athletes would do, and doing it because he wants to win, and he wants to elevate his stock by winning, not just by padding numbers.

We see an organization that not that long ago in terms of franchise history was kind of an embarrassment that nobody wanted to come play for, and now you have somebody who's willing to take less money to play for them, w- take less money than you can get from the Lakers, uh, to come play for them.

I, I think the fact that Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball have become recruiters and team builders immediately upon their, uh, their alliance, I-- Listen, I don't know how it's all gonna play out, but I love the signs right now.
And, and, you know, the other part ab- about that, Jim, is, like Anthony is fully invested in trying to make, uh, all of this happen and take this team to another level.
He did, uh, make a lot of calls to LaMelo, and he's kind of really made LaMelo feel very welcome in Minnesota right away from the time that he's gotten in.
And I was, uh, from what I understand, once c- on the day that Kaminga decided that, hey, he's coming to Minnesota, Ant was fini- was filming, uh, y- a, a commercial for one of his sponsors and found out about it, and in the middle of filming just kinda stopped it for a minute, called LaMelo, and sa- and, and was just hype about celebrating, you know, this acquisition that they've got.
And, and Ant, like you said, Jim, I think he really understands some of the cosmic significance of this move.
But what he understands is that, heck yeah, there were other teams involved, including the Los Angeles Lakers, trying to get this guy, and we convinced him to come to Minnesota.
And, you know, it was interesting that the, uh, during the LeBron pursuit, a couple of, uh, uh, clips from LeBron's old podcast had come up hi- w- about him talking about Anthony Edwards.
And, you know, he, he was telling Steve Nash in one of the clips that Ant is just one of those guys that is going to make a, y- other players want to come to his team and play with him.
And that's a really prescient comment from LeBron because that's exactly what Jonathan Kaminga said.
He said Ant was a very genuine guy, and he really appreciated how much, uh, he was in Jonathan's corner throughout this negotiation.
And Kaminga knows how good of a player that Ant is, and so he is coming to Minnesota to play with Ant for less money.
That is sort of the quintessential thing that has never really been a part of this Wolves organization except for maybe in the very prime years of Kevin Garnett when Cassell and, and Sprewell came.
