What we're going to do today is just kind of give a state of the Timberwolves.

Where are we at in this era of Anthony Edwards, Tim Connolly, all that fun stuff? So I want to start with the roster and obviously the Jonathan Kaminga presser we were both at yesterday and just kind of talk about what we heard there.

Because I think...

I think for a lot of people outside looking in, you hear some of the quotes that Kaminga says and you put that against how he's played so far in his career.

The Wolves are banking on Kaminga kind of maturing through all of the things that he's experienced and fitting in with this group.

And Kaminga, at least at the start here, with what he said in his words, indicate that, you know, that is at least a real possibility.

Yeah, and something Tim Connolly mentioned is he's only 23.

He'll be 24 by the time the season starts.

He's got that player option for $38 million next season.

I would want to shore those things up if I could, if I were Tim Connolly before the NBA trading deadline.

Now, if you are Tim Connolly, just put yourself in Tim Connolly's shoes for a second.

This Timberwolves roster as it stands today, I think is the right roster to go with.

I would hate to see the Timberwolves at this point, go ahead and shake things up by moving off of Gobert.

Now, if I were Tim Connolly, What I would probably do is take a look at this and say, okay, Rudy's averaging about 11 points a game, gets about 11 and a half rebounds per game.

And obviously, I think Ryan Windhorst responded to that saying that, you know, there's been a little bit of frustration from Ant over the past nearly two years since the Kyle Anthony Towns trade.

So, There's already been some murmurs, and I think that's what prompted Tim Connolly in the front office to make these major swings this offseason for kind of guys that I just mentioned.

I just mentioned Pods as a high floor, low upside player.

The Timberwolves have gone for two guys, I think, in LaMelo Ball and Jonathan Kaminga, who are like low floor, high ceiling players.

Let's try.

That's a pretty risky move by Tim Connolly, right? It's like LaMelo.

They're way in luxury.

Well, I'll be honest with you, man.

Uh, once that trade was made, I bet your phone, even though you just tried to figure out the salary cap ramifications, was probably more busy than Tim Connelly's at that point, 'cause he probably-

... was just like, "All right, this thing is done.

Like, it-- go, from going to the too big look after the playoffs in which Boston and Golden State faced off and the two big lineups were what won Boston or what won Golden State that, that title, to being able to, to run Kevon Looney and, and Draymond Green together in the front court, um, and, and continuing that, and now with more too big looks happening throughout the league, now zagging back to a more dynamic backcourt.

Um, it, it's, it's extremely interesting and they're doing it again and, and it, it, there, there are no op- there are no options outside of, uh, the fact that this one has to pay dividends.

Yeah, and I don't think they make-- I don't think Tim Connelly's, is, like, intentionally bucking the trend.

Like, I don't think when they traded for Rudy, I don't think they were intentionally like, "Well, I think the league is going this way.
