Sylvia Fowles

Like, Becky has Asia, Jackie, Chelsea.

Cheryl Reeve has Fi, Olivia Miles, and then even before in earlier years had Maya Moore, Simone Augustus, Sylvia Fowles.

So, like, one thing about these coaches is that, like, yes, I mean, I'm not trying to say nothing away from them, but they always have, like, high-level caliber

players.

Oh my goodness.

Now, she also made history because Angel Reese surpassed Sylvia Fowles.

Sylvia Fowles for most rebounds in a final series.

She currently has 78 and counting.

She also has the most points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and apparently threes made by any WNBA player in their first playoff run.

We were really fortunate, you know, with the Portland Fire.

We've got Sylvia Fowles, like one of the all-time legends.

She just finished her first season coaching.

you know, obviously in previous places I've coached in the past, I think there's so much value you have working with former players just in terms of, you know, they've gone through it.

One last one is 14 rejections and counting.

She moved past Sylvia Fowles and Brittany Greiner.

for the most blocks in a WNBA final series.

Um, so just insane, clear defensive impact of like elite as impactful as any part of this series, it seems with, uh, um, you know, not a couple of different factors like her, her slowing down Reese after her, after Reese really like turning it up a notch.

Stokes is having a historic run on the biggest stage in women's basketball.

She passed Sylvia Fowles and Brittany Griner for the most blocks, 14 in a WNBA final series on Saturday.

With at least two games to play, she can extend the record.

Honestly, that's kind of cool to hear, but I just hang my head on defense.

I mean, she is now surpassed the likes of Brittany Griner, who has also like Kia Stokes won championships in the WNBA.

Sylvia Fowles as

well.

Exactly.

And unfortunately, it becomes a part of a laundry list.

And we've talked about this before.

You mentioned Sylvia Fowles earlier, Elena Deladon.

I mean, we could go on and on and on.

You know what I mean.

And the reason because... minnesota and golden state valkyries they're doing this they're doing it in a different way they're not following the traditional you know get a superstar big angel reese sylvia fowles brianna stewart asia wilson uh get a superstar you know off ball shooter ryan howard get a there's the way the paths to championship that is built around superstars and elite play.

And then there's the path to the championship.

And this is the age old debate of a team that works together.

Okay, my generation.

Then like the birds and the swing cast, Tameka Catchings, Taurasi, you know, Sylvia Fowles, that was the next.

My first year in the league in 1997, I was drafted by the Mercury in the elite draft at 39.

Was

... we, we, we still bust that ass in the, in the seven-game series or whatever.

Um, but also, like I said, I, I, I'd be mad had we not at least won a championship where I seen it with my own eyes, if they was, like, this bad still after being in the league, 'cause we always had some of the best players, like young players coming up, you know, E- Elena Delle Donne, you know, uh, Fowles, uh, Cynthia Fowles, um, Candace Parker, you know, Kaleah Copper, you know, Net- Angel Reese, you know, a couple other people.

So, hopefully, I mean, but I, I think what they got now it just, you just need, like, one more, one more good little over the, over the edge, you know, player that can just, you know, take us over the hump.

But shout out Angel Reese.
