Remembering Gord Downie

Visit cooperators.ca. We're going to continue our discussion around the election, of course.

And as Hal Anderson was doing, what are you looking forward to in the debate? We are hosting a debate with the three front runners for the mayor's chair on Wednesday at 9 a.m.

next week.

It'll be chaired by Richard Cloutier.

He will host the three candidates and do an hour from 9 till 10 on a mayoralty debate heading into this municipal election.

So, We're asking you that today as part of our question at 780-6868.

Do you think a debate can sway your decision? Are you looking forward to it? And what do you look for in a debate from any of the people that you are potentially voting for? I want to continue the question of, are you going to vote on October 28th? I got some response every week the last three weeks from you, our listeners.

Even a gentleman who called in and said, I never vote.

My dad always does.

And you convinced me I'm going to go vote with my dad.

it matters and i think that for everybody who to the person yesterday when i asked this question texted in and said if you don't vote you don't have the right to complain I hear a lot of people saying they're not going to vote because it doesn't matter.

It's not going to make a difference.

And I say to you, we all felt that way, which the majority of us do.

Let's face it.

We can't even get to 35% voter turnout.

That's why.

If you could get to 80% turnout, you could make a difference.

But it all starts with your single vote.

Are you going to vote? 780-6868.

We'd love to hear from you.

And then also on the debate question of, can the debate, like with the one on Wednesday...

Sway your vote on are you looking forward to it and what you think of debates in general.

We're going to touch on that.

We also got our warm-up to winter contest, an HSC home lottery interview to get to.

And tomorrow is the ninth anniversary of the passing of Gord Downie.
