And we all know that this is not about somebody who's moved here from New Zealand or from the United States or from Great Britain.

We can tell from the discourse and the, and the language that people like, um, Danielle Smith's advisor, Bruce McAllister, have used, that, um, that journalists, quote-unquote, like Derek Fieldbrand have used.

Uh, it's, it's about, you know, people saying, "These people don't have our values.

These people don't, you know, don't fit into Canada.

Uh, don't fit into Alberta." I mean, uh, you don't have to be, you don't have to be of a conspiratorial mindset to see that the questions are designed to provoke racism.

If they're not designed to provoke racism, well, they're doing it anyway, and our ethnocultural communities are reporting increases in hateful conduct, in, in hate crimes.

Uh, you know, when Danielle Smith declared these nine referendum questions, she, you know, went on television and she said Alberta was facing, uh, uh, a nine... more than a $9 billion deficit, that too many immigrants had come too quickly, and it was swamping us.

Well, that $9 billion deficit has disappeared.

"Have you used 57 yet in that report? Have you used 57 yet? Throw it in.

Throw it in." But here's, here's Danielle Smith again, Cinderella from yesterday.

I'm curious then about your view, and David, I'll start with you on this.

I mean, there's 10 questions, but, uh, we're focusing on-

And, and then the second thing is this notion that this is gonna settle it, and, and I think it's naive to think that.

There's, there seems to be this, th- this assumption in the UCP premier's office, both under Jason Kenney and now under Danielle Smith, that if you let this group let off steam, it, it will make the issue go away.

So whether it's... a nurse or a triage doctor or somebody who can take care of the patients so the paramedics can get back out on the roads quickly instead of having to stay in the ER with their patients, which so many are doing right now.

What can we do to make sure that this needless death doesn't happen again?

They got $500.

Danielle Smith did it this year.

Everybody got $100.

Ralph Klein, years ago in 20- in, uh, 2006, everybody got $400.

... we would have conversations about the rise of their rhetoric, right? And their, their MAGA-adjacent policies.

We still see it with Danielle Smith and s- in Alberta, and Scott Moe in Saskatchewan.

Mm-hmm.

But at the federal level, the rhetoric was copied right out of Trump's playbook.

It's crazy.

Turns out Albertans are smarter than the rest of Canada and much of the world, that they believed in their energy.

Not all Albertans, but you know, like many of them that pushed for energy.

And for Danielle Smith, she was pushing into the wind for a long time.

Steven Guilbeault, when she said that Steven Guilbeault needed to be fired from cabinet, I mean, she was basically the devil to that reporter there that said, "It pollutes." I mean, Karina Gold that wanted to landlock her resources.
