Um, what's the, what's the most important thing that you learnt whilst writing it?
There's, um, I mean, there's nine perspectives in the book, and while every chapter has a, a problem to solve or a mindset to shift, they all share one theme in common, and I didn't realize this until I'd actually written the book, obviously.
Um, and that was learning to accept the things we can't control and accepting ourselves, and focusing back on the things we can control.
Of that, the, to answer your question, there was two things in particular that I learnt, um, when I was writing the book.
Um, self-compassion is being kinderTo yourself along the way to make the landing softer.
'Cause it's pretty jarring to accept that you're not, you know, y- y- accept your body image or accept your stage in life or so forth, where self-compassion can come along as a, as a friend.
So if we, if we developed a self-acceptance list, right? And you, and you might write down the first thing on that is you might a- accept that you're imperfect.
You're a work in progress," or, "You're also original," right? Um, self-compassion might say, "Ha- haven't got it figured all, figured out yet."
Self-acceptance might say, "I can't please everyone." And self-compassion would say, "That's okay.
