You know? Some like arch rivals or like, I don't know, like Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras or something.

Right.

Like, I don't know my tennis at all, but [laughs] like-

And, and, and during that time I played tennis, on and played tennis, played it very competitively, and it was so fun.

And we got to watch Pete Sampras, Michael Chang, Andre Agassi, like so m- And there's so many amazing legendary tennis players.

Right.

We've basically been in drought since then, 25 years.

It is like, I can tell you, growing up in the '90s-

And to demonstrate what a vivid vision is, he told this story.

When Brooke Shields was about to marry Andre Agassi, she decided to get into shape like any other bride.

And she cut a picture of legs that she aspired to acquire in the process of getting fit for her wedding.

And she put that picture on her fridge.

You know, Agassi and these guys would be on the front of...

I remember even like

boring-ass Boris Becker was like a big star.

That's the thing.

I saw Agassi play Sampras.

When I went to the U.S. Open when I was a kid, I saw Agassi play Sampras in the final.

Oh, so

But then I constantly, you know, every- everyone says we gotta lead by example, then you can start to lead others, you know? Gotta lear- be, learn to be a follower before you can lead others.

I, I get that, but man, it was like every athlete that I would be interviewing or I'd listen to them being interviewed, whether it was Michael Johnson, the old US El- S- USA Olympic go- gold medal runner, uh, or it was, you know, Andre Agassi, or Tom Brady, or, you know, Christie Rampone, you know, it was just like so many athletes out there, it's like, man, they had a s- they, they had or developed a strong sense of self, you know? A- and they were, did that because they weren't just cur- they were really curious to better understand themselves.

And, you know, in some ways that is like, can be expressed as a vision statement or core values, you know, things like that.

But other times it's just having a general curiosity to be, to develop their awareness of like triggers, you know? And Mi- Mi- Michael Johnson was great on this.

It comes back to, you know, like, like a, like a Tom Brady.

You know, he wins three Super Bowls and then he's like, "Gosh, there's gotta be more than this." Like, he starts searching, he starts asking questions, and then he goes on to win four more Super Bowls, but he does that from a place of, like, way more fulfillment, way more enjoyment because he knows it's about, um, not just playing the sport he loves, but it's playing the sport he loves at a place he loves with people he loves, in his words, right? So, um, you know, it's, it's, you know, that's just having a clearer vision of the type of culture he wants to be at.

Or it's Andre Agassi, you know, he, as he wrote about in, in his book Open, you know, he hated the sport of tennis.

He didn't, you know, like he just absolutely hated it.

Also says, USA Tennis just isn't what it used to be.

Andre Agassi isn't walking through that door.

So there you go.

But like-

But it ha- I mean, as the younger generation comes up who emotes differently than the older generation, since the dawn of time for tennis until, you know, Andre Agassi came around and Sampras or whatever, but it's mostly you win a shot and you do a little-

... like a bowler

It's a fantastic achievement.

You know what it takes to actually win, to be, and to beat Agassi or whatever, and Sampras, and I sort of feel the [laughs] same about this sort of thing.
