Hour 1: Jack & Diane

I, you can try and sell me-

You know what?

... on a defensive battle, Dad-

See

... and I don't think anyone with eyes-

You, you-

... is going to buy that that was anything less than a poorly quarterbacked game from two teams that have great defenses-

And, and why?

...

but unfortunately are gonna have to drag the carcass of their quarterback for a lot of this season.

Why was it, why was it poorly quarterbacked? Because of the defenses.

You say tomato, I say tomato.

You say bad offenses, I say great defenses.

Let's appreciate, as we go through this game, the great defenses that were g- on the field last night.

Okay, I appreciate it.

They're great defenses.

[laughs]

Next, now what else did we see from this game? Because I, I, I think that's the takeaway, right? When you look at this, eh, Seattle claws all the way back, they get the game to overtime after an, a inexplicable fourth quarter comeback.

The Broncos almost joining historically terrible territory with an 11-point fourth quarter lead that they blew on an incredible defensive effort.

They hold on, get the win in overtime 17-14, after the second of two bad Sam Darnold interceptions in this game.

Eh, eh, Dad, I came away thinking, yes, these two teams both have Super Bowl caliber defenses, like we expected going into this season.

And as of right now, unless things change, man oh man, the quarterback's gonna prevent them, prevent them from getting anywhere close to that on both sides of the equation.

Yeah.

I mean, if you look at Seattle to start off, it was defense and running game last year.

That's why Kenneth Walker was the Super Bowl MVP, and the defense played great.
