It’s been quite a busy week in the NFL! Former Panthers General Manager Marty Hurney and Femi Abebefe discuss the injuries to quarterbacks Jaxson Dart, Caleb Williams, Tyson Bagent, and Jayden…
Femi AbebefeHostYeah, it really is, Femi, and it's really a blow just because, you know, what's out there answer-wise.
If it's not on your roster and it's hard to have a backup that can come in and just take over without missing a step for the starter, but, you know, we've seen here two weeks.
I would love to know the number of calls the Bengals probably have gotten on Joe Flacco.
But for the Giants, they have Jameis Winston, who I think you're going to see play much better this week than you did last week.
Again, when you lose your starter, especially this early in the season, for the rest of the season, Boy, it's a huge obstacle to overcome.
But it's going to be interesting to see how he steps in this week after a full week of practice with the starters.

Like you mentioned, like Jameis will now get the full reps with the first team, as opposed to last week when maybe he got one rep if that, and it's like, Hey, now we need to go out there and play football, buddy.

And like, kind of looks like a deer in the headlights, but the Jameis Winston conversation aside, just more so from a team standpoint, you've been in that situation before as a general manager where it's like, Hey, like we just suffered a devastating injury how to like, what's the mood like in the building at this point? Because it's hard, at least for us on the outside, like I'm not a Giants fan.

How as a general manager and as a leader, do you, I guess, guard against that being the general sentiment throughout the building of, wow, we're screwed.
