The much-hyped 2026 Dallas Cowboys will kick off their season in two days on Sunday Night Football against the New York Giants.

The Cowboys 16 and 2 against the Giants since the start of 2017, tied for the most wins by any team against a single opponent during that span with the Patriots against the Jets.

Dallas is favored by three points, tied with week 18 last season for the smallest spread against the Giants since September of 2022.

Okay, so now we gotta focus on the Cowboys and if maybe they should be on upset alert on Sunday night.

We, we all make these, um, overreactions to narratives of conference versus conference play early on.

Um, it's such a small sample size, right? I mean, it'd be like last night, like Seattle beating New England and everybody saying, "Uh-oh, you know, the NFC West versus AFC East." And, you know, I, I don't ...

You know, we love that in college ball because it drives debate.

Um, you know, our league had a outstanding bowl season, um, wasn't talked about a whole lot.

They looked really good.

But, you know, certainly the Patriots, they didn't help their cause very much with, with Drake May just playing a, a clunker of a game there.

Yeah, absolutely.

How about the first game of the season between the Seahawks and the Pats? What'd you think of that one?

Uh, that one was kind of a, a, a shocker too because, I mean, what happened to Drake May?

Yeah.

Where is this offensive line of run blocking? I have to tell you, though, they look really good.

And the thing is, Mike, I'm so glad I went to the joint practices in Foxborough, New England, with the Patriots, because they were phenomenal.

I'm like, I get that they're not tackling, but they look really good.

So we're going to learn Sunday.

It's going to be fun to see what he ends up, you know, how he speaks glowingly about him.

He's kind of been all over him.

I'm a little bit surprised, to be honest with you, because he didn't have a good week against the Patriots or the two good practices.

One was really bad, and then the other one was better.

I was in the business at that time.

I ended up covering the Patriots in the Super Bowl that year, a Super Bowl that had been pushed back or the week off had been eliminated.

And that was in New Orleans, first Super Bowl I ever covered, the birth of Brady, if you will, in the New England Patriots dynasty, beating the Rams.

And the security to get – I've been to a lot of big events over my career now – There was nothing like the security.

That's what I remember most paramount about covering that Super Bowl to get into the Superdome on Super Bowl Sunday in New Orleans.

Yeah, well said.

I think the sport part of this is very interesting because, again, I was just a baby into this business in Providence, and it was real.

I mean, I think Patriots-Jets were the next game, but obviously the NFL got put on hold.

You're back in hell with us.

Fuck the Patriots.

I don't know if anybody else has watched the first two.

Honestly, they've gone what I was hoping for, Patriots losing.

And...

I mean, I don't wish for a player to play bad other than Raiders, Chiefs, and Chargers players.

It's easy to forget.

Week one seems to have the craziest wins.

You know, last year, the Raiders beating the Patriots in New England, if I remember right.

And, I mean, how does that happen? The worst team in football beating the – I'm not going to say they were the best team in the AFC because they were not.

I don't know what they feel like as a team, but when I was on the team, we all wanted the same thing.

We came out like, man, I always say we could have played the Patriots that day.

It was just going to be a tough game for whoever was on the field because we was just trying to you know, get to the level that we felt like we came out of camp with.

But we had stars too.
